NHTSA: Spanish-Language Videos

As a Spanish-speaking creative, I’m often tasked with translating or “transcreating” materials from English to Spanish and vice versa. Below are three videos I translated into Spanish for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). In addition to translating the VO and supers, this process involves working with a video editor to make sure the new audio aligns with the visuals. Projects like this one also require casting and directing VO talent, which I really enjoy doing.

This video is about how to check a used car for safety before buying.

This one is about how air bags work and what to do if your car has been recalled for air bag defects.

This video is about how to check to see if your car has been recalled for air bag defects. Because this video would ultimately be shown on DMV TV screens, we had to solve for the challenge of not being able to use sound.
